Yesteryear
The backstory was better than the book.
Entertaining/juicy concept, and I love an unlovable main character! But the backstory was better than the book, and it didn’t go deep enough on it. Natalie’s “otherness” before starting Yesteryear Ranch, her social maladjustment pre-influencer era, was the most compelling part.
The middle was repetitive without building anything important. The twists were too shallow, and the book lacked the good foreshadowing that really makes a twist a payoff.
The Netflix series Apple Cider Vinegar, about the vegan cancer-fighting influencer, did this theme so much better. Loved that show.
